James Moran presents his new performance Raffle!!
Raffle!! is both a show and a raffle.
Raffles are a type of game, like gambling but not really gambling. In a raffle you buy a ticket and hope to win a prize. It’s a chance for a bit of fun. I’d like for us all to have a bit of fun. I think we deserve it.
It’s good to be present but it’s also hard and sometimes it’s nice to get out of your head a bit. It’s nice to read books or look at videos or scroll and click the internet.
Raffle!! is really just like these things, I think. What I like about raffles, I think, is that even if you don’t win something you still spend some time imagining what it would be like to have that particular something in your life. It’s as if half the fun of a good juicer or NutriBullet is just thinking about how you’d eat more healthily if you had a good juicer or NutriBullet and whether you’d put it beside the fridge or the microwave.
